If you are on a country line dancing demonstration and them throw with terms of Shuffel, Rockstep and the rest, you will think, however, or have thought of what nevertheless means them. Whell, if you look at just as further, encounter you a number of terms with a description of how they must be carried out.

Applejack

Behind
Step you with the free foot something behind the other foot.

Box Steps
A dancing pattern of square. Bijv. 1 + 2 LV step to (slow), 3 RV step Right aside, 4 drags LV and closes at RV, 5 + 6 RV step to (slow), 7 LV step left aside, 8 drags RV and closes at LV.

Brush
Veegbeweging with the ball v.d. foot concerning the floor.

Chassé
This is 3 sideward step in 2 tellen. Bijv. 1 LV step left aside, & RV connects at LV, 2 LV step left aside.
This character is done in 3 complete tellen (therefore without & tel) then is it slow chassé.

Close
You close the free foot at the other foot, without gewichtswisseling.

Coasterstep
These it has been built from a step and sluitpas. Is backward danced.
You the character dances forward then is it reverse coasterstep. Bijv. 1 RV step to, & LV closes step to, 2 RV to.
You do this character without & tel therefore in 3 complete tellen then it is slow coasterstep.

Cross
Overstap you with the free foot crossed or crossed behind the supporting foot.

Feign Snaps
Knippen with the fingers.

Grapevine = vine
Exist from 3 passing through sideward step with treads behind and/or for the one foot, the 4e tel are variable. The vine start always with just aside or just crossed behind.
You start voorlangs then are it zigzag in spite of that it 4 tellen are.

Complete Ball Change
Is to the kick ball equal change with exception of 1st are appropriate, here with the heel on the floor it is forward touched without gewichtswisseling. Bijv. 1 RV hieltik, & RV place, 2 LV step at the place.

Complete Ball cross
To the complete ball change equal are, however on tel 2 one steps crossed for or behind the other foot. Bijv. 1 RV hieltik, & RV place, 2 LV step crossed concerning RV.

Hip Bump
This is a hip movement where the hip is pushed. Be possible in each direction. This happens with something bent knees.

Hitch

Jump
Jump with both feet at the same time and return on both feet.

Kick
Low kick: the free leg kicks from the knee and forward stretch the toe,
High kick: the free leg kicks from the hip with stretched knee.

Kick Ball Change
A shovel from the knee with fast gewichtswisseling of the one foot on the other foot Bijv. 1 RV shovel to, & RV close foot, 2 at LV on the ball v.d. LV step at the place.

Kick Ball cross
To the kick ball equal change however on tel 2 one step have been crossed for the other foot. Bijv. 1 RV shovel to, & RV close foot at LV on the ball v.d., 2 LV step crossed concerning RV.

Lift
Lifting generally the knee of the free foot. Almost right such as the Hitch, only remains the supporting leg at the place.

Lock scooter
The one foot crosses very dense for or behind the other foot, with the knee of the one leg in the knee cavity of the other leg.

Mambo Rock
It is gesyncopeerde (therefore with & tel) Rock scooter to for or to behind or aside, followed by sluitpas. It are 3 treads in 2 tellen. of bijv. 1 RV step, & rock on LV, 2 connects RV.

Paddle Turn
A turn link sum or sum with the supporting foot at the place whereas the other foot on the ball v.d. foot is placed each time and as it were sale to commitment the turn. Bijv. 1 RV step in 5e the position, 2 RV + LV turn 1/8 link sums, 3 RV step in 5e the position, 4 RV + LV turn 1/8 link sums etc.. There are 4 turn possibilities for the paddleturn. 1) each time 1/8 turns, 2) each time 1/4 turns, 3) each time 1/2 turns, 4) or complete turns.

Pivot (Progressive Turn)
Forward 180 º turn sum or link sum with gewichtswisseling. Bijv. 1 RV step in 5e position extended, 2 turn 1/2 sums on RV and LV step behind (or beside RV in 2e or 3e the position, or for in 5e the position extended)  Traveling Pivot: Double pivot forward with 3 gewichtswisselingen with a total turn of 360 º. Bijv. 1 RV step in 5e the position extended, 2 turn 1/2 sums on RV and LV step behind, 3 turn 1/2 sums on LV and RV step in 5e position extended.

Pivot Turn (stationary turn)
Change the dancing direction by means of and 180 opposed to º turn Right - or link sum with: partial gewichtswisseling and finish with the weight on the first foot. Bijv. 1 RV step for 2 RV + LV turn 1/2 link sums.

Rock
Gewichtswisseling over 2 tellen in each direction of the one foot on the other foot with conservation of floor contact are by both feet.

Rock scooter
2 gewichtswisselingen direction opposed in. Bijv. 1 RV step for, 2 weights on LV. Cross Rock: 2 gewichtswisselingen by crossed concerning or back-yard (position 6 extended) Side Rock: 2 gewichtswisselingen by sideward placing (2e position)

Sailor scooter
Dansvariatie of 3 treads in 2 tellen, Sailor Shuffle are often wrongfully called. The bovenlichaam slanting keeps something. Bijv. 1 LV step behind RV (5e position), & RV step rechtsopzij on the ball v.d.voet (2e position), 2 LV step left aside in 2e or 3e the position extended. You do this character without & interview then is called it slow sailor step(like at the waltz, or twinkle)

Sailor Walk (also confessed as Sailor Crosses or Drunken Sailor Steps)
A serial to step forward or backward which crosses each other alternatively each time during 2 tellen concerning 1 step for example 1 RV step crossed concerning LV, 2 rests, 3 LV step crossed concerning RV, 4 rests.

Scuff
A hard veeg with the hak concerning the floor both for and backward.

Slack
With the hand (en) it has been accentuated on a certain lichaamsdeel beat, for example knee.

Slide
A step on 1 foot, is possible in each direction, and drag the free foot concerning the floor to the supporting foot and close, or drag to another blinked.

Slow
A name (interview) for a foot is - or body movement during 2 tellen of the mjuziek, i.e. Slow are 2 beats.

Scooter
A step with complete gewichtswisseling of the one foot on the other foot.

Thump
The free foot stamps with the flat foot on the floor, without gewichtswisseling. Consonance is harder than the tap and for an emphasis is used  (also obtuse up, the stub down are the same but then with gewichtswisseling)

Stroll
4 A counting combination of a scooter, a cross, and run. Generally this diagonal is danced bijv. 1 LV step diagonal left for, 2 RV crosses step behind LV, 3 LV diagonal left for, 4 rests.

Strut
Complete Strut: Bijv. 1 RV step on the hak, 2 RV allow to precede toes to fall. Strut: bijv. 1 RV step on ball v.voet, 2 RV allow to precede hak to fall these toekan both for the complete Strut and the Strut also backward and aside.

Sugar Push
An alternative turn v.d. feet (swiveling) in the direction of the free foot. Be possible at the place or are carried out moving to for (as it were shoe movements).

Switch
Fast gewichtswisseling of the one foot on the other foot (wisselsprong). This movement is done in 1 maatslag of music & 1, & 2. is possible both forward, backward and sideward are carried out.

Swivel
At the place twist v.d. are heels or  toes to (zijwarts) and the hips to work whereas the bovenlichaam does not work. Bijv. 1 RV + LV chop Right, 2 RV + chop LV in the middle of.

Touch
Lichtelijk touching, c.q touching, therefore also not audible.
Complete Touch: the heel of the free foot touches lichtelijk the floor.
Touch: The toe of the free foot touches lichtelijk the floor.

Traveling cross Steps
Continuing cross treads sideward (both for and achterlangs) is possible both with without & tel is done.

Tripple scooter
Triple stepping at the place in 2 tellen.
Turning tripple scooter: idem but then with a turn at the place.

Vine
Exist from 3 passing through sideward step with treads behind and/or for the one foot, the 4e tel are variable. The vine start always with just aside or just crossed behind.

Walk
Generally take a step during 2 tellen. A step can be with a tel rests on tel 2 or and body action at the place.
